5 Worst Skin Sins People Make

5 Worst Skin Sins People Make
We’ve always told you what to do with skin care tips, but in this article we tell you what not to do by learning from other people’s beauty regrets/mistakes.
  1. Not wearing sunscreen
We have rarely come across someone who hasn’t done this ever. We all know the importance of applying sunscreen before stepping out, but how many of us do it religiously? There are always days when that chalky mask makes our beige faces look clownish or times when we feel too lazy to apply sunscreen. But do you know why skin care experts say one should never go without SPF? Apart from impeccable skin, sun-protection has many pluses. But let’s look at the minuses instead. Sun burn, pigmentation, brown spots, ageing, and the scariest of them all - skin cancer. The solution? Never forget sunscreen, apply it 20 minutes before going out and reapply every 2 hours.
  2. Over cleansing
Have acne prone skin? We bet you tend to wash your face whenever you have the chance. And that too with harsh face washes/soaps. We tend to think the cleaner the face, the less prone it is to acne. How true is that? Not very! What happens is that these heavily-scented, chemical-laden products tend to irritate your skin further and dry it out, zapping all your natural oils. Thereby, making your skin even more prone to zits. The solution? Pick a gentle, soap-free cleanser that suits your skin type and wash your face not more than 2 times a day.
  3. Overenthusiastic about exfoliation
Exfoliation is good. We all know that! But overdoing exfoliation? Not so good. The virtues of exfoliation lie in the fact that it removes dull and dead cells and restores the glow in your face. But when you overdo it, the scrub particles act as abrasive elements and cause redness, irritation, infections, etc. The solution? Be gentle and never aggressive. Limit the exfoliating to once a week. And always go for an organic, natural alternative.
  4. Overdoing acne-prone skin
If you already have acne-prone skin, chances are you do all you can to try and fix it. And in the process, you tend to not just do, but overdo! Yes, you think of extreme measures like chemical peeling, overburden your skin with tons of products, add to the agony by checking yourself out in a magnifying mirror and at the end of it, you only end up aggravating the problem! The solution? Keep calm, drink more water, follow a healthy diet, go natural (let nature do its job and use natural, herbal products.)
  5. Picking skin
We all know it’s bad, but picking is human nature! The bad habit of squeezing, poking, pinching and pealing cause more damage to your already-damaged skin by slowing down the healing process and leaving a mark. The solution? Keep your hands to yourself! Every time you have an urge to pick on your pimple, think of the scar it will leave behind.
  6. Now that you know what these beauty mistakes actually do to your skin, tell us how many of these skin sins are you guilty of? And if you are guilty, maybe it’s time to follow our skin care tips and learn a lesson?
